DONEGAL singer Brian Sheerin has auditioned today – in a bid to be a part of the next big boy band – and he’s been shortlisted for another audition on Tuesday!
The 23-year-old from Burt hit the headlines when he starred in RTE’s All-Ireland Talent Show.
The talented Burt gaelic footballer made it to the finals of that show.
And after performing today in Dublin for Louis Walsh, he’s hoping that he’s not too OLD!
“I thought it went well,” Brian told Donegal Daily after leaving the Button Factory audition.
“I’m crossing my fingers that I get in, but there were hundreds there. You never know.
“My only concern is that at 23 I might be a wee bit too old; Louis might be looking for lads around 18 or 19.
“There were a lot of talented guys there. Would be great to have a Donegal input into the next big boy band….
“I’m asking everyone in the county to say a wee prayer and who knows?
“I got a callback – so I’m back tomorrow and that is good news. Fingers crossed everyone!”
Louis has already given his approval to one Donegal singer; saying he ‘particularly liked’ Shane McLaughlin on the Voice of Ireland.
The new band is being put together to step into the market left by Westlife; with the new group already being dubbed the Irish One Direction.
Among those auditioning today was Eoghan Quigg from Dungiven.
