Sunday seen a fast and skilful game taking place in Connolly Park, Malin along with Four Masters were without some of their usual starting line-up. Malin dominated the majority of the game; however Four Masters placed the home side under pressure at times. The game resulted with a final Score Malin 2:11 Four Masters 1:12. Next expected game for the Senior side will be against St Eunan on Saturday 1st of June, however see next week’s notes for confirmed fixture. The Reserve Team will host St. Eunans this Saturday 25th of May at 7:30pm.
LADIES FOOTBALL:
Ladies Football training continues on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s between 8pm- 9pm.
GIRLS FOOTBALL:
U16/U14 Girls continue to train on Wednesday’s at 5:15pm.
U12 Girls continue to train on Wednesdays at 4:15pm
U10/U8/U6 continue to train on Saturday mornings at 11:15am till 12:15, all sessions are €2.
BOYS FOOTBALL:
U6 age group continue to train within the Club Gym on Sunday mornings from 10am -11:15am.The sessions are based on GAA Fundamentals; a Croke Park initiative based on research aimed at bettering your child’s coordination (including hand eye) balance, agility and basic fitness in a fun filled environment. It is also an introduction into the basic skills of Gaelic games. All children are welcome to attend.
U8 age group continue to train on Sunday mornings at 11am to 12:30pm, also within the Club Gym. All underage sessions are €2.
U10 age group continue train on Sunday’s from 12:30 to 1:30pm.
U14 Training takes place on Monday from 5-6 and on Thursday from 4.30 to 6.00.
HURLING:
U10/U12 Boys and Girls Hurling continue on Friday Evenings from 6pm-7pm. All equipment provided €2 per session.
U14 TEAM:
Malin under fourteen season is getting really busy with matches coming thick and fast. They beat Moville a week ago in Friday despite being nine down with five minutes left to kick off their Inishowen League campaign. They beat an understrength Muff team on Wednesday night to finish second in Division 2 section 2 with some good performances from squad players Padraig McCarron Darragh McKinley, Cormac Harte, Kealan White, Evan McLaughlin and Conor Bambrick. The team now play the team from section 1 of Division 2 and there is silverware up for grabs with the championship still to come. Back in Inishowen the team drew with Carndonagh on Friday night, an excellent result considering they were a man down and five points behind at half time. The current squad is Callun Doherty, Robert Boggs, Cormac Cullinan, Ciaran Doherty, Connor Quigley, Joseph Doherty, Sean Byrne, Joseph Doherty, Ciaran Doherty, Oisin McGonagle, Daniel Houghton, Conor McGeogeghan, Sean O’Neill, Conor Gallagher, Jack McLaughlin, Andrew McDaid, Thomas Mullin, Padraig McCarron, Adam Doherty, Jason Doherty, Cormac Harte, Darragh McKinley, Conor Bambrick, Kealan White and Evan McLaughlin.
GO GAMES:
U12 team will play Moville at home on Tuesday Evening, while the U10 team will play Carn at home on Wednesday Evening. The U8 team are due to be away to Carn on Thursday however, this fixture is to be confirmed, please see Club Facebook page for updates. All support welcome to each of these matches to cheer on the Club’s young players.
SPORTS:
The Club will be running an Annual Sports Day on Sunday the 2nd of June. All proceeds will be in aid of Malin GAA and Relay for Life. The Sports are guaranteed to be a great day with usual events to take place, more details to follow in next week’s notes.
DOWNEY/MCLAUGHLIN MEMORIAL CUP:
Due to Death within the Burt Club, the U16 Downey/ McLaughlin Memorial Cup Final will be rescheduled for another date. See Clubs Facebook page for new date.
MR & MRS:
A SOLD OUT SHOW: The club will be holding a Mr & Mrs Competition, on Saturday 25th of May. Money raised by the Mr & Mrs competition will go towards purchasing new equipment for the Club Gym. The event is now sold out, with entry being by ticket only, please note that doors open at 8pm, will show starting at 8:30pm sharp. Guaranteed to be a Great Night!
ITEMS TO RETURN:
Anyone that has borrowed items from the Club is asked to return them to Sean Houton by Thursday evening. This includes items such as tables, chairs and Kitchen Utensils, as these are needed by the club for upcoming events.
DONEGAL GAA SUPPORTERS CLUB:
Donegal GAA Supporters Club are holding a Discussion Forum, in An Grianan Theatre, Letterkenny on Wednesday 22nd of May at 8pm. Special Guests on the night are Martin Mc Hugh, Anthony Molloy, John Lynch and Pat Mc Anneney, compere on the night will be Highland Radios own Charile Collins, Music Entertainment will be provided by Pat Gallagher, (Goats Don’t Shave), Eddie Gallagher and David Craig. LOTTO:
There was no winner of this week’s lotto jackpot of €900. The €50 winner was James Brennan, Lucan, Dublin with Lily’s Bar, Malin receiving the €20 seller’s prize. Winning sequence was.
