Staff from Pramerica with staff and students from Mulroy College celebrating the conclusion of the Skills @ Work Programme facilitated by The Schools’ Business Partnership, Business in the Community Ireland.
Pramerica Systems Ireland and Mulroy College in Milford have completed their third successful year of Schools’ Business Partnership.
This initiative provides firsthand insight into the business world to senior cycle students from Mulroy College and is part of the Schools’ Business Partnership programme run by Business in the Community Ireland (BITCI).
During the programme, employees of Pramerica Systems Ireland provided a number of talks on ‘A Day in the Life of …’; a company overview; and workshops on positive communications, how to build a comprehensive CV; and helped the students develop good interview skills by participating in mock interviews.
The students were also brought on a site visit to Pramerica Systems Ireland in Letterkenny and saw the various career opportunities that exist within the ICT and Financial Services industry sectors.
“The impact that this initiative has on the students is visible right from day one, it generates an interest and motivation for the students to succeed and to continue to work hard on their studies. The partnership has been invaluable to the school,” said Catherine Crawford, Business Teacher, Mulroy College.
A spokesman for Pramerica Systems Ireland said they are also delighted to continue their partnership with Mulroy College.

It is an invaluable experience – from developing team-building, interpersonal and communication skills to feeling a sense of pride, value and satisfaction in their work.” said Martin Davies, Lead Specialist Platform Engineer, Pramerica Systems Ireland.
BITCI said it recognises the ongoing support shown by Pramerica Systems Ireland to the programme, the school and the wider community in Donegal.

It is a wonderful demonstration of an organisation’s corporate responsibility,” said Elaine McFadden, Regional Coordinator, Donegal, BITCI.
The Schools’ Business Partnership is funded by participating businesses with matching funds provided by the DES under the National Development Plan (NDP).
