A Kerrykeel man who was banned from driving for life by a judge yesterday has had his driving ban reduced.
Cathal Dunleavy, 23, was sentenced to five years in prison and banned from holding a driving license for life when he appeared on sixteen driving charges at Letterkenny Circuit Court.
Dunleavy had been involved in an incident in which Gardai pursued him for 20 minutes from Letterkenny to Fanad.
At one stage Dunleavy reversed the car in the direction of pursuing Gardai.
Dunleavy’s barrister Peter Nolan today made an applicaiton to have the lifetime driving ban reduced.
After considering the application, Judge John O’Hagan agreed to reduce the ban to 25 years starting from today.
Dunleavy is already serving a driving ban.
