A body has been removed from a second floor flat at Main Street, Buncrana.
The body was found earlier this morning and Garda forensics officers are at the scene.
The man who died is believed to have suffered from smoke inhalation after a confined fire on the premises overnight.
The body has been taken to Letterkenny hospital for a post mortem examination.
