RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta’s Rónán Beo @3 is inviting budding musicians to take part in a Battle of the Bands competition – Bruíon na mBuíon – as part of the RTÉ and Young People event in April.
The prize for the winning band will be a recording of a 3 track EP in the Donegal studio of Tommy McLaughlin of Villagers fame, and an invitation to perform at Rónán Mac Aodha Bhuí’s Cabaret Craiceáilte music night.
The competition is aimed at secondary school pupils throughout the country, and individual musicians or groups are invited to submit a newly composed, contemporary song in Irish to the programme by 29 March to be in with a chance at winning.
Entries can be sent as an MP3 by email ronan@rte.ie or by post.
Competitors can submit more than one entry, once they indicate that. Further details and full rules on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta’s Facebook page.
The winners will be announced on Friday 19 April on the Rónán Beo @3 programme on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta.
