A large crowd is expected in Ballybofey this afternoon for the visit of Kerry to MacCumhaill Park.
The Kingdom’s brand of football has always attracted attention from football purists and today will be no different.
However, for a change Donegal will be favourites going into the game which throws in at 2pm.
Kerry have been going through an indifferent league campaign and they are also missing a number of key personnel.
Just a year ago, Kerry brushed aside Donegal by 2-16 to 1-8 as Donegal threw a glance towards their championship campaign.
Today’s game as its own prize.
Both sides will be anxious to get full points today to keep their hopes of maintaining Division One status intact.
Jim McGuinness’ team have a number of injury worries with David Walsh almost certain to miss out while midfielder Neil Gallagher is still doubtful.
Mark McHugh is also a doubt while Karl Lacey is still a long way off making the team following his hop operation at Christmas.
Donegal played well in spells against Tyrone at Healy Park last week but it wasn’t enough to wrestle the points form Mickey Harte’s side.
Jim McGuinness will be looking for an improved team performance but most of all he will be looking for two points to give him a bit of comfort.
Those two points can allow him to throw himself and his team wholeheartedly into Tyrone and the challenge that May 26th will bring.
