A 48 year old man has been charged with burglary and threatening to kill 96 year old Buncrana woman Margaret Lilly.
The robbery of Margaret ‘Greta’ Lilly shocked the nation when she was robbed at her home in Aghilly on January 5th last.
Ms Lilly, a widow, was admitted to hospital after her ordeal.
A substantial amount of cash was taken from Ms Lilly’s house during the raid.
Thomas Alcock, who had recently returned from living in the UK, today appeared on court in Cloverhill charged with the incident.
Alcock, of no fixed abode, had been arrested after the incident and was staying at a hotel in the county but was later released without charge.
He will appear in court again on Wednesday.
Following the raid, the people of Buncrana and further afield rallied behind the local woman.
A fund was set up in her name by local councillor Ciaran McLaughlin while numerous offers were also made to the well-known woman.
She is now living back at home and is set to be settling back in well after her ordeal.
