The €50 winners in the Annual Lotto for Week 28 were Bartley Mc Glynn, Stranorlar and Mary Jo Stewart, c/o Mullin’s Shop. The numbers drawn were 5, 10, 19 & 21 with the jackpot now standing at €1,300.
The Club is hosting an Award 1 Coaching Course (Youth and Adults) over two weekends, Friday February 15th (Coaching Theory), Saturday February 16th (Coaching Practical), Friday February 22nd (Coaching Theory), Saturday February 23rd (Coaching Practical). Probable times are 7.00 pm – 10.00 pm and 9.30 am – 4.30 pm. Participants must have already achieved Foundation level. Update from Southern Board meeting regarding this year’s fixtures. Under 8’s and Under 10’s will be on a similar basis to last year with blitzes against local teams being organised. The Under 12’s play in Division 1 with 8 games in a league format. They play Dungloe, Killybegs, St Nauls, Naomh Conaill, Naomh Mhuire, Aodh Ruadh, Bundoran and Ardara. There will also be 2/3 blitzes organised before the league. The Under 13’s in Division 1 with St Nauls, Aodh Ruadh, Bundoran, and Killybegs. The Under 14’s in Division 1 drew Dungloe, Bundoran, Aodh Ruadh and Naomh Conaill in their Championship group. They also play all the aforementioned teams plus St Nauls, Kilcar, Naomh Mhuire and Ardara in the league. The Under 16’s in Division 2 play Na Rossa in the championship. Play Bundoran, Kilcar, Naomh Brid, Na Rossa and St Nauls in the league. The Minors in Division 1 play Bundoran in the championship and Ardara, Kilcar, Bundoran, St Nauls and Na Rossa in the league. All managers should be aware that at least 3 days notice is needed to rearrange a game by the Southern Board or team will forfeit points. Bord na Og are currently looking for a managers/coaches for the Under 13 and Under 16 teams for the coming year. The Under 13’s start in September in a league format over 6 weeks with the Under 16’s starting in June with a league and championship. The Under 14 Boys football have started back training on Mondays and Thursdays from 6.00 -7.30 pm on the All-Weather Training Pitch at Tir Conaill Park. Players are reminded to wear gumshields and bring €2.00 for training.
Reminder to parents and players that following the G.A.A. Annual Congress in April 2012 a new rule was enacted that makes it mandatory to use a mouthguard in all Gaelic Football matches and training sessions from January 1st 2013 (for all age grades up to and including Minor) and at Under 21 and Adult level from January 1st 2014.
