Letterkenny Rovers have been handed a home draw against Swords Celtic in the last sixteen of the FAI Umbro Youth Cup.
The tie will take place in Letterkenny on the weekending 24th February.
Rovers progressed through to the national stages of the prestigious competition with a comprehensive 4-0 win away to local rivals Bonagee United last Saturday courtesy of two goals each from Kevin McGrath and Kieran MacPherson.
Their DDSL (Dublin and District Schoolboys League) opponents Swords Celtic came from 2-0 down to win at Malahide United 4-2.
Team manager Anthony Gorman said: “When you get to this stage of the competition, the best you can hope for is a home draw so we’re delighted with that. All teams from now on are going to be of a high standard but you can be sure any team coming out of the DDSL will be particularly strong”.
Rovers youths return to league action this Saturday at home to Rosses Academy while the under-19’s play their penultimate match in the Northern Section of the League of Ireland away to Sligo Rovers on Sunday.
