GARDAI in Letterkenny have arrested two more crime suspects – taking the number of arrests to seven in less than 24 hours.
Two men were arrested at the weekend after a substantial number of items were taken from a shed at the back of a house on the outskirts of the town at Carrygawley.
Officers moved quickly after a tip-off and later arrested two men at the Neil T Blaney Road in the town.
All the stolen items were recovered.
The men are among EIGHT people who will appear at Letterkenny District Court on Monday charged with a range of offences.
In the most serious incident in Bridgend on Sunday, two Garda officers were injured.
They were later released from hospital.
Politicians have welcomed the quick work of the Gardai.
But officers are keen to point out that the unsung heroes are the members of the public whose vigilance helped in many of the arrests of the past three days.
“We can’t fight crime without the help of the public and the vigilance shown by so many people in recent weeks has been incredible,” said one senior officer.
