A LORRY driver has been killed in a single vehicle road crash in Co Donegal today.
The 38-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident close to Leonard’s Garage on the Pettigo to Laghey Road.
The articulated lorry left the road during the crash which took place just after noon.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Gardai in Ballyshannon are investigating the cause of the crash and the scene around the incident has been sealed off.
The victim – Lithuanian national Prasnas Asmonas- worked for a haulage firm in Co Monaghan.
The father of two was returning to Dublin from Killybegs where he had collected a load of frozen fish.
He had been trapped in the cab of his vehicle after the crash.
