Letterkenny Golf Ladies Club
Letterkenny Golf Club has commenced its Centenary Year with a positive and celebratory air. Since the wonderful New Year’s Eve Party we have had plenty of cause to get together before the ladies golfing season really kicks in.
Resumption of the Friday night’s quiz saw Lady Captain’s team take on two teams, with mixed success but with great enthusiasm. The Book Club met and reviewed The Girl You Left Behind by JoJo Moyles with a good debate about the likes and dislikes of the characters, storyline etc of the book. This month’s book is On The Floor by Aifric Campbell. Card night recommenced on a Wednesday night and members were also delighted to be invited to a night hosted by Noreen – many thanks Noreen for a lovely night.
Upcoming events include the Captain’s Drive In – date to be confirmed. Date for your diary – Bingo February 24th – more details later.
Getting back to the golf…! The Daily Mail qualifier will take place on Saturday 26th January. Book online and organise your own partners.
Club Pro, Seamus Clinton, is trying to ensure that we are top class golfers – his recent promotion of lessons (including an on course lesson) has been popular. More details from Pro shop.
Beginner ladies classes will be arranged again this year, headed up by Jackie Ireland. If you know of any lady who would like to participate, please contact the Pro shop or info@letterkennygolfclub.com Any lady or schoolgirl who would like to play golf, whether new to the game or not, please contact us – you will be very welcome. As you will see from the activities above, golf is not the only activity going on so come along to enjoy the social aspect of our club too.
And finally – we have collected 104 used mobile phones for our defibrillator fund. Many thanks but we need 250 to secure this important equipment – it could save your life. Please deposit any used mobiles in the box provided or post in club letterbox if out of opening hours.
