Bord na nO’g – Thanks to everyone who attended the Bord na n’Og meeting on Saturday, it was good to see such a good turnout and positive contact from those that couldn’t be there on the evening. Adrian Doherty and Alan Friel would still like to hear from anyone willing to help out with underage coaching for 2013; experience is not a necessary criteria, a willingness to help out where ever needed is though. Full training will be provided and details of relevant coaching courses will be available in the coming weeks.
Senior Dinner Dance – Thanks to everyone who attended the Dinner Dance last Friday night. The club would especially like to thank Sean Dunnion, chairman of the Donegal County Board, Micheal McMenamin, County Development Officer and Con O’Donnell, Oifig na Gaeilge for their attendance and contributions on the evening.
It was great to see such a big attendance with mini-reunions of our team of ’69 and the ladies of ’92 who all turned out in force. Of course the attendance of Sam Maguire added to the buzz and it is the trophy which is the star in most of the pictures posted on the web site.
Thanks also to the Ballyliffin Hotel and their staff who helped to make the evening such a great success.
Congratulations to all the prize winners on the night. Chief amongst these were John Joe Cleary and Charlie Farren who were presented with Honourary Membership for their services to the club and to the GAA in Inishowen. Liz O’Neill was chosen as Club Person of the Year, an award which was richly deserved for her efforts over the past 12 months. Phil Pat Doherty was a popular choice for Senior Player of the Year.
Conor Brennan one of our rising crop of young players was Reserve Player of the Year and Jason Doherty earned the accolade for the Inishowen title winning Minor team.
