A CO Donegal woman starting a new life in Australia isn’t letting the heatwave there get to her – but admits she misses sitting in front of a fire back home.
Buncrana girl Eimear O’Neill moved to Sydney two months ago where she landed a job as a civil servant with the Healthcare Commission.
But as her adopted country baked in record high temperatures, Eimear insisted she was making the most of it.
“I’m loving the hot weather with bbqs, going to the beach and having a ‘scooner’ at the Opera bar,” she said.
“The hottest day yet reached a scorching hot 43degrees – and it was still that hot at 11pm at night.”
And she admitted she isn’t missing the weather back home in Inishowen.
“The only thing I miss about Donegal’s weather is lying infront of a nice big fire,” she laughed.
