MOTORISTS are being warned to take extra care on the roads today after overnight temperatures in Co Donegal fell to -3C.
There are also reports of freezing fog in some areas of the county this morning.
Donegal County Council and Gardai have appealed to drivers to slow down, especially on untreated secondary roads.
Met Eireann says the cold settled spell will continue through until the weekend with sub-zero temperatures by night and temperatures by day of around 6C or 7C by day.
It will be bright and sunny for most of the week.
