Daniel O’Donnell has revealed he had the perfect Christmas – watching old movies, singing hymns and visiting friends.
The star said he did all the important things in life over the festive season including visiting family and friends.
The only downside for the singer was losing money playing golf!
“I hope you had a lovely Christmas. We had a lovely quiet time. As always I was delighted to get to sing with the choir at Christmas Eve Mass. It was a lovely service. When mass was over we followed our usual tradition and went to my mother’s house for Kathleens home-made soup.
“On Christmas morning I went back to sing at our local mass and afterwards went to the local hospital and sang a few hymns for the residents.
“Majella, Siobhan, Michael & I had our dinner in our own house this year, and as always we ate too much. We spent the evening watching old movies.
“Over the few days of Christmas we managed to catch up with a few of our friends who we haven’t seen for a while, which was lovely. I did manage to sneak in a game of golf as well. Sadly I lost the money!!! My mother has been in great form and I was able to take her to visit some friends also,” said Daniel.
The star said he was very busy leading up to Christmas doing quite a few radio and television interviews.
Daniel revealed all his Christmas news on his monthly update on his website.
“The weather has been quite good here and as I write this letter I’m sitting at our dining room table looking out on the Atlantic Ocean with Owey Island in front of me and Aranmore Island just to my left.
“The sun is shining and the trees at the end of the garden are swaying in the breeze. Siobhan is already gone back to work in London and Michael leaves tomorrow. He too is working in London now. So they are both delighted and lucky to have jobs. Majella and I are going to Dublin where we’ll spend the New Year and then on the 2nd we’re off to Tenerife. We’ll spend the month of January there,” he added.
