Mayor of Donegal Cllr Frank McBrearty has officially congratulated Sean Dunnion, the new chair of the GAA in the county and a member of staff at the county council.
“I am delighted to see Sean elected to the post of Chairman of the County Board,” said the Mayor.
“As an employee of Donegal County Council and as chair of his hometown Four Masters Club Sean has a lot of leadership qualities that will stand him in good stead in this new role.
“I had the honour of working with Sean during the homecoming for the All Ireland Donegal Senior team champions in September this year and I am very confident that Sean will continue to do his county proud as the new chairman of the county board,” said the Mayor.
Cllr McBrearty added: “I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to sterling work done by PJ McGowan the outgoing chairman of the County Board and to thank him for his commitment and dedication over the last number of years.
“This is an exciting time for the Donegal GAA and I am confident that PJ and the other outgoing members of the board are leaving their posts in the very capable hands of the new County Board members.”
