A judge has warned a young Fanad man that he is on a slippery slope if he keeps drinking.
Shane Friel of Ballyheerin was arrested by Gardai outside the Empire Nightclub in Downings on June 10th last.
He was told to leave the area after an altercation involving other people.
However, he failed to do so and literally fell on top of Gardai and was arrested at 3.15am.
Solicitor Patsy Gallagher said his client was more of a nuisance than anything else and simply could not handle drink.
He had not been out for months before being arrested and drink got the better of him.
Letterkenny District Court heard how Friel, 20, was now back in school and didn’t go outside his house now.
Judge Paul Kelly warned Friel he was “running out of chances” and ordered him to pay €150 to St Vincent de Paul.
