There was a real festive atmosphere as families gathered to officially mark the countdown to Christmas.
Letterkenny Chamber and local businesses should be congratulated for what turned out to be a hugely enjoyable evening.
Local business owners set out stalls in front of their shops with many handing out free mulled wine and mince pies.
Children were also given free goodie bags.
Lord Mayor of Letterkenny Dessie Larkin said he was delighted to see so many families had made the effort to come out on what was a very cold night.
President of Letterkenny Chamber John Watson congratulated and thanked all local businesses for their efforts.
And there was even an appearance by a certain man with a white beard and a red suit.
He told children that they now had the chance to be good before he sees them again on Christmas Day.
And with that it was home for a night in front of the fire to watch the Late Late Toy Show!
