ONE of Co Donegal’s main roads has been closed tonight after a road smash.
Gardai were at the scene of the incident just outside Lifford.
It’s understood a woman out walking was hit by a car.
She is believed to have suffered several injuries and has been taken to Altnagelvin Hospital.
The AA has advised motorists to avoid the area while Garda investigations continue.
The road traffic collision happened as temperatures fell below zero.
There is also fog in many areas and visibility in the area of the crash was poor at the time of the incident, just before 7.30pm.
Gardai are carrying out follow-up investigations at the scene.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a serious injury collision which occurred at Coneyburrow Road, Lifford to contact them.
