Minor Hurling: History was made in Ballinascreen on Sunday afternoon, when Buncrana minors took the field against Lisbellaw from Fermanagh in the Ulster Minor Hurling Championship. The game was played in idea conditions with the Erne men starting the brighter, opening up a two point lead. However, the young Scarvey lads slowly got started and got into the game and lead at half time by two points. From the throw in of the second half, Lisbellaw began to get a grip on the game and the physical strength of their squad took its toll. They fielded some players from their successful Ulster Junior Hurling squad, and this was the difference in the end as they ran out 5:8 to 1:9 winners. Although the result was hard to take, it does not detract from what was a great team performance, as we took the field without any players of 18 years of age. These boys should justly cherish their county medals and will no doubt be back next year. This committed bunch will be the backbone of any future senior hurling team and are an example to others of the dedication that is going to be needed. Team: P Wilson, A Stokes, D Mac Lochlainn, D Doherty, C Grant, D Wilson, P Nelson, Jamie Mc Laughlin, S Nelson, J O Loughlin, S Doherty, M Farrell, C Mac Lochlainn, T Clare, P Kelly, Subs: S Mc Fadden, B Doherty.

Quiz: The club would like to thank the organisers and everyone who attended the recent quiz in aid of Buncrana Nursing Unit which raised over 400euro of much needed funds for Buncrana Nursing Unit.
Senior Football: Following a thoroughly disappointing display in the Intermediate Championship last weekend, Buncrana were eager to resume league action and get back to winning ways on Sunday afternoon in Kilygordon. Despite missing a number of players, Buncrana put in a particularly impressive second half performance to win 3-15 to 2-5. There were good performances from Ryan Curran, Darrach O’Connor, John Doherty, Odhran Doherty and Adrian Doherty. Training continues Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. Team: Noel O Donnell, Simon Mc Grory, John Doherty, Ronan Doherty, Kevin O Loughlin, William Mc Laughlin, Adrian Mc Colgan, Odhran Doherty, Peter Mc Laughlin, Paul McGonigle, Simon Cuffe, Oisin Doherty, Ryan Curran, Garbhan Friel, Darrach O’Connor.
Senior Reserves: Our Senior Reserve side lost to a very strong Aodh Ruadh side in the Intermediate Reserve Championship final on Saturday afternoon in Donegal Town. The Scarvey men never really played to their full potential on the day, however there is a good blend of youth and experience in the squad at present and the future looks bright. Best fro Buncrana on the day were Stephen Nelson, Stephen Doherty, Bruce Waldron, John Cassidy and Caolan McCann. FT Aodh Ruadh 0-11 Buncrana 0-3.
