Cllr David Alcorn has received Donegal County Council’s nomination for membership of the Udaras na Gaeltachta board.
The Fianna Fail councillor received the support of Sinn Fein support on a vote of 15 to 11 with two abstentions.
Cllr Alcorn paid tribute to outgoing board member Cllr Padraig O’Dochartaigh, saying he hopes that Cllr O’Dochartaigh gets a nomination.
He also paid tribute to outgoing board members Grainne Mc Geidigh of Sinn Fein and Senator Brian O’Domhnaill of Fianna Fail, the other Donegal representatives.
