The Mayor of Letterkenny has convened a special meeting of the town council to discuss the proposed Local Government Reform.
Cllr Dessie Larkin has called the meeting of local councillors for Monday next at 6pm at the Public Services Centre.
This is the first time in recent years that such a meeting has been requisitioned by the Lord Mayor.
The special meeting has been called in accordance with Article 6 (a) Schedule of the Local Government Act of 2001.
The meeting, which only has one item on the agenda, is expected to debate the fall-out from the proposed changes to local Government by Minister Phil Hogan.
