UPDATED: A serious two car collision outside the Clanree Hotel in Letterkenny led to the closure of most of the lanes on the main road into the town at teatime on Wednesday.
The accident happened just after 6pm this evening.
Traffic was diverted away from the crash scene for a time.
Two vehicles were badly damaged in the incident which is just the latest at that junction.
Councillors want to reduce the speed limit there.
Two people were hurt in the incident but their injuries are not life-threatening.
