A diner has ‘squeezed’ hundreds of customers out of a controversial roadside advertisement.
People have been queuing up in their droves at Kernan’s Diner in Newtowncunningham, Co Donegal to have their picture taken with the banned advert for Club Orange.
The advert was outlawed by the Advertising Standards Agency of Ireland after complaints that it was sexually suggestive.
The ASA upheld complaints about the cardboard cut-out woman in revealing clothing, used in the fizzy drink marketing campaign.
The advertising authority said there was no link between women’s breasts and Club Orange.
But one such cardboard cut-out was left behind at the busy Donegal diner and had punters lining up to have their pictures taken with the busty board.
Manager of the store Patrick McBride said they had received no complaints about the banned advert.
“The life-sized figure is actually proving very popular with our customers. We have had loads of people getting pictures taken with it.
“We haven’t had any complaints and most people see it as just a bit of craic,” he said.
However the ‘juicy bits’ advert is nearly past its shelf-life.
The company is due to take back the advert – much to the tears of many red-blooded Donegal men.
