Texas Hold’em Fundraiser:
There will be a Texas Hold’em Poker night on Friday 9th November at the Scarvey Clubhouse. This is to raise much needed funds to purchase equipment for our underage Hurling and Football squads. The night will begin at 8.00pm and is open to all levels, from novices to seasoned ‘pros’! Entry fee is 20euro plus 10 registration, with one re-buy/top-up before the break. Tea/Coffee and refreshments provided. We look forward to seeing you all there!
U13 Hurling: The Buncrana U13 Hurlers secured qualification for the Northwest Hurling league semi-finals on Sunday last in impressive form, with wins against Derry stalwarts Slaughtneill and Kevin Lynch’s, Dungiven. These wins were aided by previous wins in the competition over Lavey, Swatragh, and neighbours Burt. The only blemish on the record was a narrow defeat by tournament favourites Ballinascreen. These results have left us in the last four of the A- division which will take place next Sunday in Owenbeg and all support welcome.
Senior Football: Our Senior sides were in Championship action once again this weekend, with the first legs of the Intermediate Championship quarter finals being held in Foden, Carndonagh on Saturday evening. Both sides will be happy to have recorded wins and are now firmly focused on the second legs which will take place next Sunday 21st October at 1.30pm and 3.00pm, Senior scoreline – Carndonagh 0-10 Buncrana 0-129. Reserve scoreline – Carndonagh 1-3 Buncrana 3-5. Training continues on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Sports Prediction Competition: Buncrana GAA sports prediction competition is still in full swing, please see the following for the top ten positions at present; Oisin McColgan 45, Brian Moran 45, Aidan Mulholland 42, Shaun Higgins 42, Andy McLaughlin (Snr) 42, Anne Sheridan 39, Stephen Moore 39, Andrew McLaughlin 39, Sharon McDaid 39, John Treacy 39. U10 Football: Training continues every Friday at 7.00pm at the Scarvey and new players are always welcome.
Boys U14 Hurling: Boys U14 Hurling training takes place at the Scarvey every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 7.00pm. If you haven’t played before and are interested in playing Hurling please feel free to come along.
Boys U14 Football: Training for the boys U14 team will take place on Monday evening at 5.00pm. New and returning players are always welcome.
Boys U14 & U18 Hurling: Hurling training for boys aged 14 to 18 years takes place every Saturday at the Scarvey at 3.00pm-5.00pm. New players are always welcome.
U8 and U10 Hurling: Hurling training for children under 8 and under 10 years takes place each Sunday at 11.00am. If your child would like to learn the basic skills of hurling in a safe and fun environment please come down and try it out, new players are always welcome.
