THE PATTERSON family played a goodbye gig at the Station House in Letterkenny last summer.
And this evening, Sunday, TG4 features Ronnie, Billy and Christine on the series Ceol ón Chlann.
The series explores six musical families: the Keanes, the Blacks, the
O Snodaigh’s, the McPeakes, the Pattersons and the Sands Family –
famous Irish families who have brought their music to the four corners
of the world.
This new series gives an insight into the musical journey that each
family has taken and the influence that previous generations have had
on the rich heritage of each family.
Each story, narrated by Padraigín Ní Uallacháin, is presented through
rare footage from the archives of the BBC, UTV and RTÉ, and previously unseen private family footage.
Well-known journalists, musicians and broadcasters also offer unique
perspectives throughout the series, which features: Liam Ó Maonlaí,
Mary Bergin, Dónal Lunny, Áine Hensey, Colm Mac Con Iomaire, Lynette Fay, Séan Bán Breathnach, Neil Martin, Breanndán Ó Beaglaioch, Brian Mullen Robert McMillen and Dónal K O’Boyle.
Ceol an Chlann 10.00pm Sunday 14th October – The Pattersons.
