EVENT CANCELLED PLEASE SEE NEW POST ON DONEGAL DAILY
By Findhan Strain: Ireland’s most northerly mountain bike race, the Northman, takes places this Sunday, the 7th October outside Malin.
The Northman is the second race in the 2012 Castle Cycles Donegal MTB series and is an entirely new venue located just outside Malin town.
The track itself is totally new, with a completely different lay-out to the first race in the series, the Bogman.
This time, competitors will complete over a number of laps that weave through meadows and natural woods while overlooking the North Atlantic.
The series continues its support of three race categories, Senior Mens, Senior Womens and the ‘Bitta Craic’ category, so if you’re a well established mountain biker or a complete novice, there will be something for everyone.
The event starts at 13:00 with the Senior Women’s and Bitta Craic category lasting approximately 60 minutes, while the Senior Men’s will last for 90 minutes: Competitors have the allocated time to do as many laps as possible over the flowing singletrack.
Registration, event information and further details can be found at www.donegalmtb.com.
