Naomh Columba 18.09.12
Our under 21s were the only team in action over the weekend, and had an unfortunate result on Sunday, when they exited the championship after a one point defeat to Convoy. Hard luck to everyone involved. In underage news, our under 13 team continued their league campaign with a home defeat to Na Cealla Beaga on Friday evening last. They host St Nauls this Friday evening, with a 6.30pm throw in at Páirc na nGael. Best of luck to all. Our minors are still awaiting word of their championship final. Details to follow. Scór na nÓg: the county semi final of Scór will take place on Friday, October 19th, in Gleann Fhinne. The events in Scór na nÓg as as follows: Figure/Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Instrumental Music, Recitation/Scéalaíocht, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Quiz and Set Dancing. Scór na nÓg is open to any club members under the age of 17. Anyone interested in taking part in this year’s Scór is asked to contact Oifigeach na Gaeilge, John James Mc Laughlin, or any other member of the club committee. If anyone has yet to return their cycle sponsorship cards & money, please arrange collection with Owen Doherty, Marley Doherty or Caitríona Nic Seoin over the coming days. We would like to have a final figure available for release shortly, so the sooner we get everything in, the better. The club would like to take this opportunity to wish the very best of luck to Jim Mc Guinness and the county squad in Sunday’s All Ireland final. A particular good luck to Patrick Mc Brearty and Mark Mc Hugh from CLG Chill Chartha. The club tickets will be distributed from the clubhouse this Thursday night, from 7-9pm. All tickets are to be collected and paid for on the night. We hope that everyone travelling over the weekend will have a safe trip, and fingers crossed that we will be accompanying SAM home on Monday night!
