Border Celtic and Gallen’s Lounge football teams got together after more than 20 years to raise money for charity. The game took place on Saturday evening past in the Finn Valley AC pitch. The money raised will go towards the Cancer Bus that travels to Galway. The event was organised by the Donegal Charity Shop.
One of the organisers of the event Cllr Cora Harvey said: “A great evening was had by all, these two teams were great rivals in their day and it was great to see them all back in action, Gallen’s Lounge Team won the match 2 – 1. Goal scorers were Darren Foy and Paul Finn while PH Bonar was the scored for Border Celtic.
“I want to take this opportunity to thank all the players that got involved in the event and a special mention to Liam Lafferty , Sean Farrah Gallen and Brian Harvey for getting the teams organised and Ronan Floyd for refereeing on the night. I would like to thank all those who made food, and those who bought lines and to Donegal GAA for sponsoring a signed Jersey for the raffle.
