DONEGAL’S GAA heroes don’t just have fans in Senegal – they’ve got fans in the West African country of Mauritania too!
Kilcar’s Rory Gallagher may be top of the charts with Jimmy from Senegal with their Donegal GAA tribute.
But in Mauritania, right next door to Senegal, four Co Donegal men will be avidly following the boys as they take on Cork in Sunday’s All-Ireland semi-final clash.
“We are just Donegal men working off the coast of Mauritania in West African and just want to wish the Donegal team all the best for Sunday’s game,” said Ardara man Michael Barrett.
“We might be thousands of miles away but we are right behind Donegal this Sunday and we want Jim McGuinness, his players and all the fans back home to know that those of us overseas are proud of them and wish them all the best.”
