As expected the Donegal County Board has called off next weekend’s club championship fixtures across the county.
It follows a request by Donegal team boss Jim McGuinness as he prepares for his side’s semi-final against Cork in the All Ireland final in less than three weeks.
The last series of championship games had already been postponed to facilitate preparations for the team’s Ulster Final appearance.
Donegal players and supporters have welcomed the move as the team prepared for the epic game at Croke Park.
It’s likely club championship games will be played on succesive weekends up to the final or play-offs while replays would have to be played mid-week.
