Letterkenny Rovers defeated Drumkeen United in the final of the Ulster Senior League Cup after a 8 goal thriller in Bonagee on Sunday. With the game all square after 90 minutes, Rovers dominated the extra time period and eventually won the game 5-3.
The teams went in at half time a goal apiece. Drumkeen took the lead through Conar Carlin but Rovers equalised through Jamie Doherty. Letterkenny Rovers then scored two goals without reply midway through the second half from Davitt Walsh and Glenn Hamilton.
But to Drumkeen’s credit they never gave up and were rewarded when first Carlin scored and with time running out ,Richie Moore scored to send the game into extra time.
Into extra time and Rovers dominated the period and scored in either half thanks to strikes from Chris Malseed and a second goal from Davitt Walsh.
