Donegal would then meet Cork or Kildare in the semi-final if they overcome Kerry.
Kerry could be without Paul Galvin for the tie after he was dismissed during their massive 19-point win over Clare in the qualifiers earlier this evening.
Dublin will play against Laois while Kildare’s reward for beating Sligo at Dr Hyde Park was a meeting with Cork while the final fixture will see Connacht champions Mayo take on Down.
Ulster Champions Donegal will have probably preferred any of the other teams (perhaps with the exception of the impressive Cork) but Jim McGuinness has always said you have to beat the best to be the best.
Kerry may be without Galvin after he was sent off in the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick – but it was unclear if he got a straight red or two yellows, a red ruling him out of the game against Donegal.
Kerry hammered Clare, hitting 2-22 for Clare’s 1-06, again showing the critics who wrote them off were way off the mark.
It is undoubtedly the tie of the round – with times and days for the games to be decided over the weekend.
Let’s all hope it’s Sunday!
