Many thanks to Paco, in particular Tracey who set up a beautiful display of the new collection, who very generously sponsored the 18 hole competition on 17th July. Not this ladys first time to walk the floor as she has been on it every week, but her maiden voyage I believe as the winner, was the Lady Captain herself, Angela Kilgallen with a superb 37 points. Runner up was Connie Reddan 37 points B.O.T 3rd place went to Jackie Ireland 36 points B.O.T. The Back 9 was won by C. Daly 18 points. The front 9 was won by a complete stranger to the podium Mary Ellen McNulty who quickly declared she would be back and true to her word as ever, the winner in the 9 hole competition was announced, as none other than Mary Ellen McNulty with 16 points on the 12th July. Runner up was her playing partner, who may have picked up a few tips from Mary Ellen, Mary Murray 16 points B.O.T.
Mr Captain Niall O’Donnells prize to the Ladies was played on Thursday and armed with her ‘Daz White’ bag and 6 clubs Marian O’Sullivan emerged the victor with 38 points. Catherine Cooke-Harkin came runner up with 37 points. The gross was won by Tracy Spence and my own playing partner Vera Kearney came 3rd with 37 points B.O.T. The nines were won by Bridget McClafferty and Anne Condon.
In the pre-Captains Mixed Foursomes, there were mixed fortunes for some of us but pairings took to the course determined to enjoy Nialls weekend. Runners up were Anne Condon and John Russell with 46.4 and their playing partners Garret Condon and Cynthia Fuery came 3rd with 48.5 B.O.T.
