Pride of place this week goes to the Dungloe U16s when they beat a much fancied Ballyshannon team in the championship final on Friday night. The boys led this game form start to finish picking of their points well in the first half, and when Darragh Mc Gee drove through the Ballyshannon defence his shot was well saved but the ever dangerous Ryan Greene was on hand to volley the ball to the net and gave his side great hope for the second half.
Ballyshannon kicked 8 frees in the second half but goals from David Sweeney and Stephen Connaghan Dungloe were never going to loose this game. Scorers ; Hugh Moy 0-01, Adam Neely 0-04, Ryan Greene 1-01, Dara Mc Glynn 0-01, David Sweeney 1-00, Stephen Connaghan 1-00 and Man of the match Danny Rodgers hit a 45 and saved a penalty, not bad. Well done to Eugene, Benny and John.
The under 8’s were involved in a four team blitz at the weekend away in Ardara. Dungloe brought two teams and each team played three games each, against N. Conaill, St Naul’s and host Ardara. The club would like to thank the Ardara club for a well run event and all the parents for supporting both teams so well.
The Under 10’s were away in Kilcar for a blitz were Dungloe fielded two teams and went unbeaten in the competition and collected a cup at the end. Well done to the lads and thanks to all the parents for their support during this away trip.
The Club would like to wish Adrian Hanlon and all the Donegal squad the best for this coming weekends Ulster final against Down in Clones.
