Termon GAA Notes: Week Ending 10/07/12
Best of luck to the Donegal ladies who compete in the Ulster final this Sunday against Monaghan in Clones at 3.45 especially the Termon contingent of Nicole, Therese, Roisin, Gerladine and Emer. Hopefully as many Termon people as possible make the trip to Clones to support the girls.
Minor Board:
The minor boy’s were defeated by Newton last Friday which ends their league season. Get well soon wishes are extended to Daire McDaid who broke his leg during that game.
The Under 12 boys bus for the Northern Finals in Buncrana will leave this Saturday morning at 9.30 from the Burn Road. Good luck to the two teams and management who have had an excellent season so far.
Training as usual this Saturday morning for the underage groups at the Burn Road.
The Cul camp takes place this year at the Burn Road from Monday the 13th to Friday the 17th of August. Mark the date in the diary for our future stars. By registering online with Kellogg’s parents can save €5 off the cost of the camp. Contact Brian Trearty (086 340 6167) for details on registration.
Ladies Board:
Termon junior ladies had a fine win over old rivals Buncrana on Sunday by a score of Buncrana 5-6 Termon 4-12. Best for Termon was Sharon Mc Laughlin, Orla Trearty, Martina Kelly and the outstanding Grainne McCafferty.
Congratulations to Holly McDaid who was part of the Donegal u16 panel who have advanced to the Ulster final with a win over Tyrone last week.
The u12 girls have a blitz this Saturday morning in Glenswilly. All players to be in Glenswilly by 12.40.
There may be a 13 aside game this Saturday evening. All players to contact Hugh Harkin for confirmation.
Mens Board:
Our seniors and reserves took on Burt on Saturday evening with the reserves continuing their recent good run of form with Phillip Doherty best for Termon and Brendan McFadden reeling in the years when introduced as a sub. The seniors recorded another important win with a clinical team performance. Despite a number of players being unavailable Termon proved too strong and the win maintains their place at the top of the table. There are no reserve and senior fixtures this coming weekend.
Lotto:
The Lotto draw took place in the Glenveagh Inn on Friday last. The numbers drawn were 6, 10, 18 and 26. There was no match 4 or 3 winner. G McDaid, E McCormack and N Quinn were drawn in the open draw and won €10 each. Next week’s draw takes place in the Lagoon. Kath McSharry and Joe McDaid are the coordinators. The jackpot is now €700.
Good luck to club members Jamie Gallagher and Catherine Crawford who get married this Friday in Ramelton.
