Firstly, well done to all involved in a fantastic day at Páirc na nGael on Saturday last, where the club hosted the third annual Darren Mc Ginley memorial tournament.
Congratulations to Naomh Conaill on winning the memorial cup, and Killybegs on winning the shield.
Many thanks to everyone who helped in any way to make the day such a success, and to the large crowd who attended.
Our men are travelling to Ballyshannon this weekend, with games set for Saturday evening, 6pm reserves & 7.30pm seniors.
In underage news, a high scoring encounter in the first round of the under 14 championship saw our lads overcome Killybegs at Páirc na nGael on Wednesday evening last.
At the time of going to press they were due to face Naomh Ultan in the second round, set for Dunkineely on Wednesday evening, throw-in 7.30pm.
Our minors unfortunately suffered defeat to Dungloe on Thursday evening in Páirc na nGael. Our under 12 team are due to face Na Rossa in the Southwest semi-final this weekend. Game is scheduled for Saturday at 12noon, with the venue to be confirmed. Naomh Columba will host a charity football match in aid of Temple Street Children’s Hospital, on Sunday, August 5th.
The game will see the under 16 County Champions of 1992 reunite once more to take on a ‘Superstar Selection’. The event promises to be a great follow-up to the previous days Agricultural Show, and another highlight of the Bank Holiday Weekend. Further details will follow in the coming weeks.
