Termon GAA Notes: Week Ending 26/06/12
Defibrillator
Thanks to everyone involved in the game to last Friday night in aid of the purchase of a defibrillator for Termon GAA. Thanks to the everyone who contributed on the night and to the players for their efforts on the field. Thanks to Deirdre Gallagher and James Cassidy who have been the driving force in getting a defibrillator for the club. Thanks to Lagoon for the refreshments after.
Minor Board:
Next Monday at 6.30 the U12s take on Milford in Milford. Both under 12 teams won against Gweedore away on Monday night. A win next Monday should guarantee a league final against St Eunans. All support would be appreciated.
Well done to Shane Doherty, Kilmacrennan on winning the Daisi, Donegal Creameries skills competition last week. Shane beat the pick of the rest of Donegal to win the skills title.
The minor boy’s take on Downings this Friday the 29th at 7.30 at the Burn Road in their final league game.
Texts will be sent regarding coaching and blitzes this Saturday morning.
The Cul camp takes place this year at the Burn Road from Monday the 13th to Friday the 17th of August. Mark the date in the diary for our future stars. By registering online with Kellogg’s parents can save €5 off the cost of the camp. See packs for details.
Ladies Board:
Under 16 training takes place every Thursday at 5.30. All new players welcome.
The junior ladies had an excellent result against Lifford last Sunday. Maura Kelly, Orlaith Trarty and Lucy O Flynn. Depending on other results the junior ladies could be in a League final in the coming weeks. Well done to all involved.
The u14s season came to an end last week with a defeat to Milford. Well done to the girls for all their effort and commitment this year. Thanks also to Roisin, Niamh, Orlaith and Tara for their work with the team.
The u12 girls may have a blitz this Saturday morning in Fanad. Contact Lisa McGlynn for details.
Mens Board:
Our seniors and reserves took on Aodh Ruadh on Saturday evening with the reserves holding out for a draw against a strong Aodh Ruadh side with Mark Gallagher in good scoring form while the seniors had a good victory maintaining their excellent run of form with goals coming from Aidan Sweeney and Pauric “Geraldine” Hilferty. Both teams are away to Red Hughes this Sunday at 1.30 and 3.00pm.
The club wish Anton Friel and Brian McDaid speedy recoveries from shoulder injuries sustained at the weekend.
Lotto:
The Lotto draw took place in the Lagoon on Friday last. The numbers drawn were 3,12,15 and 16. There was no match 4 winner. Colm Gallagher matched 3 numbers and won €80. Damien Neilis and Gerard McCool were drawn in the open draw and won €10 each. Next week’s draw takes place in McClaffertys Churchill. Hugh Harkin and Bernard Gallagher are the coordinators. The jackpot is now €600.
Sympathy:
Sympathy is extended to the extended Doherty family Derriscleigh on the death of John Doherty who’s burial took place in Termon on Monday.
