He’s six foot tall and made of straw.
And he’s doing a wonderful job at Glenswilly National School.
Sid the Scarecrow has become a welcome addition to the school where he was designed to keep the birds (and Charlie the caretaker!) from pinching the plants and vegetables form the school’s vegetable plot.
Sid was made by parent Sasha McNamara and is proving a welcome addition to the plot which was encouraged by headmaster Joseph Gallinagh.
The children are preparing to take their vegetables home with them in the coming days.
But who will look after Sid when the summer holidays arrive?
Rumour has it that he is moving in with Charlie!
Pictured with Sid is Ms McCafferty’s junior infants class.
