ABOUT THE CHARITY
Children’s Sunshine Home & LauraLynn House
The Children’s Sunshine Home has been caring for chronically ill children since the 1920’s, providing respite, crisis, transitional and end-of-life care.
We are delighted that Ireland’s first children’s Hospice – LauraLynn House officially opened in September 2011 by President McAleese.
This allows us to extend our respite and end-of-life care to more children living with a life-limiting and life-threatning condition and their families. There are 42 hospices for children in the UK and none here until now.
Unfortunately, we can’t change a child’s diagnosis but we do make the most of short and precious lives. Our motto is putting life into a Childs day, not days into a Childs life.
