CONGRATULATIONS to Mark English who has been pre-selected to run for Ireland at the World Junior Track and Field Championship’s in Bracelona from July 10-15.
He travels to Turin tonight (Friday) to take part in the Grand Prix series. Mark, who ran 1.45.77 recently to break his own national record won the Irish Milers Club 800 metres in Tullamore on Saturday.
He was followed in second spot by clubmate Darren McBrearty while Danny Mooney finished in fifth place.
Meanwhile, another Letterkenny athlete, Ruairi Finnegan will look forward to get under the World Junior qualifying time for the 1,500 metres when he races in Watford this weekend.
Well done to Ivan Toner who finished second (16.48) in the Donegal Town 5k on Friday evening. Others to feature for the club were Glen Duncan (11th-18.33), Greg Campbell (19th- 19.23) and Garvan McCloskey (20th-19.29).
The Grand Prix action switches to Lifford next Friday night (June 15) at 7.15pm. Congratulations to Adrian Callaghan who got married last weekend.
