Shay Given is suffering a new injury scare ahead of the Euro 2012 Finals – blisters!
The Lifford man is expected to overcome the knee problem which has left him out of training for the past couple of days.
But now he is suffering from a series of blisters which forced him to stay away form training in Montecantini yesterday.
However Shay is expected to line out against in Budapest against Hungary in a friendly on Monday.
The Irish soccer team’s legendary physio, Mick Byrne, has said that the Green Army cannot play at Euro 2012 without Shay.
“Shay is our rock and we simply can’t think of going into the finals with out him.
“He will be okay. It’s just blisters and not the problem with the knee.
“We can’t even think of not playing without Shay,” he said.
