Assisted by undercover cops from the Garda National Drug Unit, gardaí from Ballyshannon seized the plants from a warehouse in the townland of Trummon, Laghey.
Around 2,000 plants were found on the premises which gardaí described as “an elaborate growing operation”.
Two Chinese nationals, one aged 32 and the other 43, were arrested at the scene.
They are currently being held at Ballyshannon Garda Station under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
However donegaldaily.com can reveal that Gardai are searching for several more suspects.
It’s understood the two men arrested claim they were “workers” and know nothing about their “crop.”
The gangsters behind the operation remain at large.
Gardai are understood to have been working to smash a massive drugs operation being run from County Donegal and supplying dealers both in the North and the west of Ireland.
