TEA DANCES
The Family Resource Centre has been contacted by a number of people regarding the running of morning time tea dances as a social outlet. Therefore, the Centre would like to hear if there is sufficient interest for such a pursuit. We would also like to hear from anyone willing to help out, provide suitable live music or donate/loan CDs or records. If there is enough interest it is likely that the tea dances will start in early June and on a Thursday morning from 11am-1pm. ASIST
For each of the past 3 years the Family Resource Centre has hosted the ASIST Suicide Awareness Training and again in 2012 we are proposing to host the training. The training which is for 2 full days is for parents, caregivers, youth workers, volunteers, teachers, sport coaches and anyone living or working in the community who wish to feel more competent, confident and comfortable in reducing the risk of suicide. The ASIST training is planned for Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th June. For further information or to book a place, please contact 0749145796.
Safe TALK Training
The Family Resource Centre is proposing to host the safe TALK training programme that prepares participants to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. These specific skills are called ‘suicide alertness’. The half-day training is suitable for everyone who wants to help prevent suicide and is prepared to become ‘suicide alert’.

COUNSELLING SERVICES
Raphoe Family Resource Centre offers a free and confidential weekly counselling service to the general public. This person-centred service is for those experiencing Bereavement/Loss, Separation, Abuse, Mental Health Difficulties and issues around sexuality. The service operates on an appointment basis only.

LITTLE SMILES WITH BIG DREAMS
Little Smiles with Big Dreams is a friendly baby and toddler group situated in Raphoe Family Resource Centre. We are open every Wednesday morning from
10.30 – 12 noon. Little Smiles with Big Dreams is a group that focus on fun for the kids and the opportunity for parents, grandparents and extended family to have discussions with other adults. It is a great way to introduce your child to a social environment while you can discuss parenting tips with others. There is no charge but your kiddies will enjoy playing with all our lovely toys, having messy play, singing and dancing and a light lunch is provided.
RAPHOE TIDY TOWNS NEWS:
The Application for Raphoe in the National Tidy Towns Competition has now been sent off to the department for this year. Judging is usually during June, July & August. Thank you to everyone in the community for all your help to date. Our entire community of Raphoe is doing well receiving 293 points and a bronze medal award last year. If you wish to put out flower boxes, hanging baskets this year it will be a great help also. Thank you from the Committee, Supervisor & Staff RTT Ltd.

ST EUNAN’S CATHOLIC PARISH RAPHOE
The Annual Blessing of Graves will take place this year after the 7.30pm Vigil Mass on Saturday evening the 2nd of June 2012. Holy Mass will be available on the internet on that evening for those unable to attend or anyone living overseas. The address is www.parishofraphoe.com then click webcam. If required now is also a good time to prepare and consider tidying up your family plots. Please dispose of all weeds, stones, wreaths and old flowers in a responsible manner. Thank You.
St Eunan’s Catholic Parish events to mark the Eucharistic Congress 2012
We are having a Corpus Christi Procession here in our Parish on Sunday 10th of June starting at the Chapel at 3pm going to the Diamond where there will be blessings at the junction with Irish Street, Friel’s Corner and the top of the Glen. Then there will be Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the centre of the Diamond before returning to the Chapel for the concluding ceremony. People are encouraged to put out little covered tables along the way suitably prepared in honour of the Blessed Sacrament. Everyone is encouraged and invited to attend, as this marks the beginning of the Eucharistic Congress in Dublin. During the week there will be adoration of the most Blessed Sacrament each day in the Church for set times. On Friday 15th June Holy Mass will be celebrated at 7.30pm with the anointing of the sick. May this bring many blessings to our Parish.
ARMY RETIREMENT
Congratulations to Sergeant Brian Gallagher Tullyvinney Raphoe on your recent retirement from the 28th Infantry battalion of the Irish Army. Brian along with family and friends celebrated his retirement at a special function held in finner camp on Friday 18th May. During his long term of over 40 years service in the Army Brian received the good conduct medal a very honourable military award and a reflection of Brian’s dedication loyalty and integrity as a serving member of our defence forces. Brian’s family and everyone in attendance at the function were so proud of this Raphoe man who spoke so well of his service over the years with the Army which was very moving and a real testimony of a man who loved his job; loved his family and loved his country very much.
Best wishes for a very long healthy and happy retirement Brian. God Bless.
RUNNING GROUP
A new running group is starting in Raphoe every Monday, meeting at Royal and Prior school car park at 7 pm.

SELF MANAGEMENT COURSE
HSE are providing a self management course for people with long term conditions and Carers of people with long term conditions that promote self care. Self care means looking after yourself and your general health so that you can manage your life and not just your condition. The course is free of charge and is run over six weekly sessions, each lasting 2 ½ hours. Courses are being provided across the county. OAKFIELD PARK
The gardens at Oakfield Park are now open for the summer. As always the trains will be running every weekend. The gardens are open from 12 – 6pm, Wednesdays to Sundays. Raphoe Friday Seniors Club meets every Friday in the Volt House Hall from 10.30am until 1pm. Come along and enjoy the tea and craic. New members welcome. For further information please call the Volt House on 9173966 or just call in any Friday. You will be very welcome.
GLENMAQUIN NATIONAL SCHOOL

We are a 2 teacher school with one part-time Teaching Assistant and one part-time Learning Support Teacher. We are located conveniently to Raphoe, Convoy (3.5miles) and Letterkenny.
As we are a small school, all our children get great individual attention alongside the ability to take advantage of lots of trips, e.g. theatre, workshops, libraries, cooking, gardening, crafts and lots more! These trips are all funded through the schools various fundraising activities e.g. Christmas Bazaar.
