When it comes to having horse sense, Donegal thoroughbred Sunny B has buckets of it.
So much so that he had his owners at Glenleary Stables outside Ramelton scratching their heads in disbelief.
The 12 year old Irish Hunter was often hungry when its stablemate Daisy went out for gallop.
So instead of waiting to be fed, it managed to use the chain on its stable to steal some of Daisy’s food.
The owner of Glenleary Satbles, Mary Finnerton, said the horse belongs to 13 year old Rebecca Ryan from Milford.
She said she could not believe how Sunny B had managed to learn how to throw the chain onto hay to pull it over to his side of the stable.
“He’s a great horse but we have never seen anything like this.
“We couldn’t understand how the hay was going missing until someone noticed what he was at,” she said.
