Minister for Education Ruairi Quinn has snubbed parents who protested at this morning’s opening of the new Finn Valley College in Stranorlar.
Minister Quinn said he would take on board the concerns of protesters but did not meet with them to hear their views.
Parents claim they are being forced to send their children to different schools because new rules means they cannot avail of school transport.
Deputy Dinny McGinley, who accompanied Minister Quinn, said he would convey the concerns to Junior Education Minister Ciaran Cannon.
About 40 protesters greeted Minister Quinn when he arrived in the Twin Towns this morning.
While welcoming the news that Minister Quinn will look at their case, a spokesman for the protest group said they were disappointed he did not take the time to meet them.
