Donegal Bay Rowing Club has literally grown from being a ‘shell’ of an idea to a thriving club.
The club is nback in full-swing and preparing for various regattas throughout the county.
It has come along way in just over a year when it had no boats, no trailer – NOTHING – except the shell of a Skiff.
The club is now the proud owners of two Skiffs.
The Racing Skiff was completely reconstructed from the shell while the Training Skiff was located in a nearby county and was also completely refurbished during the winter months.
These refurbishing were carried out by club members to a very high standard and funded by our club. Both are now berthed side by side at the pier in Donegal Town.
A purpose built trailer was purchased – built locally and now ready for use.
The club is now open for new members. If you think you would like to learn how to row and be part of a team sport then come along on Wednesday evenings from 7-9pm.
If you like the sport and want to join – membership forms will be available on the night from existing club members. The only item you require to row is your own life jacket. All members must own their own life jacket. The cost of membership is €50.00.
