Both our Senior and Reserve teams were in action against Killybegs at Pairc Naomh Brid on Sunday afternoon. In the reserve match a first half Pauric Gormley goal meant the lads were only trailing by 2 at the break against a stiff breeze. Killybegs defence held firm for large parts of the second halfand they managed to tag on a few scores.
Naomh Brid however managed to get the scores they required and with a minute remaining Kevin Timoney kicked the equalising score to leave the game all square at the final whistle. In the senior match Naomh Brid with the aid of the breeze held a 2 point advantage at the break. In the second half the defence worked tirelessly to thwart any Killybegs threat. Killybegs managed to pull 3 ahead with around 10 minutes remaining but the lads showed great determination to bring the game level at 9 points each entering the closing stages. Killybegs found the next score and the lads worked hard to equalise but Killybegs managed to go up the other end and tag on another score to record a 0-11 to 0-9 victory. It was great to see such a great crowd for the matches on Sunday and we hope this continues throughout the season. There are no games this weekend for either team.

Hard luck to our U16’s who were defeated against Glen on Monday night in the Divisional League final. The boys trailed 2-9 to 1-3 at the break but a great second half performance left them in with a chance near the end but unfortunately Glen held on for a 3 point victory on a scoreline of 2-14 to 4-5. There were some good performances from Eoin McGarrigle, Gerard Martin and Patrick Moss with Killian Burns also excellent in goals before getting injured. The lads will now contest the county league semi-final against the winners of the Northern section.
